A Note from Bruce
When Janele passed on November 10, 2023 my entire life changed immediately. A greater part of myself also died and for quite a long time I did not care if I lived or died.
She was and continues to be a part of my daily life. I truly am the man I am today due to Janele. I truly believe she married down when we got married and I am thankful she saw something to me to become my eternal companion. I anxiously await the day in which we will be runited.
This past four months have been much better and I am back to focusing on thriving versus just surviving. With that being said I wanted to share with you all about a non profit 501 (c)(3) I have established in honor of Janele here in Utah.
I wanted to share something close to my heart - something we are building with love, purpose, and a deep sense of care: Nelli, Inc.
Nelli is a non profit organization created to bring comfort and dignity to children entering the foster care system. Far too often, these children arrive at their new homes carrying their belongings in trash bags. It's a heartbreaking reality that sends the wrong message at a moment when they're already scared, uncertain, and alone.
At Nelli, Inc. we believe that every child deserves better.
That's why we provide children with a suitcase, a teddy bear and a lap blanket or quilt - simple, meaningful items that say: You are valued. You are not alone.
This work is deeply inspired by love - and by a desire to show up for children who often feel forgotten. I wanted to invite you to be part of this mission in whatever way feels right to you - through your encouragement, support, ideas, or simply by helping us spread the word.
Together, we can make sure no child ever feels that their life can be stuffed into a trash bag. Together, we can give them something better - something lasting.
We can make a difference together one suitcase at a time.
With love and gratitude,
Bruce
